SHIFTING POINTS OF VIEW: PETER GARRETT - BIG BLUE SKY

Ahead of Midnight Oil’s Christchurch concert, the band’s charismatic frontman Peter Garrett makes a special appearance to talk about his creative and political life as outlined in his recent memoir Big Blue Sky.

Peter Garrett's life has been fully and passionately lived. A man of boundless energy, compassion, intelligence and creativity, he has already achieved enough to fill several lives.

From his early interest in equality and justice to fronting iconic Australian band Midnight Oil; from his time as a galvanising activist for the environment to being a minister in two Labor governments, Garrett has an extraordinary story to tell.

Peter Garrett will appear in conversation with journalist/broadcaster Finlay Macdonald. The session will include an audience Q & A and book signing.

Dare to be provoked and inspired by this year’s Shifting Points of View presented in association with WORD Christchurch. With big, bold ideas and good old-fashioned storytelling across eight sessions, it may even change your point of view.
